The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) team visited Balochistan University of Engineering & Technology, Khuzdar regarding OBA Based Re-accreditation for B.E Mechanical Engineering programs on 07-08 June, 2022.
The team was comprising of Engr. Prof. Dr. Mirza Jahanzaib, Team Leader, Engr. Prof. Dr. Shahid Maqsood, PEV Mechanical Engineering, Engr. Prof. Dr. Riffat Asim Pasha, PEV Mechanical Engineering, Engr. Dr. Azmatullah Khan Sherani, Observer Civil Engineering and Engr. Jehan Zeb Khan, Representative of PEC.
First Day visit, The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ehsan Ullah Khan Kakar welcomed PEC team members and briefed them regarding role of BUET Khuzdar, research publications by faculty members, status of PhD faculty and curricular activities in university and the PEC team also conducted a meeting with Honorable Vice Chancellor and shared some recommendations for the improvements of Engineering departments.
Dr. Shabbar Naqvi, Director General, ORIC/ Chairman OBE Implementation Committee, delivered a presentation to PEC team on overall organization of the University and measures taken for implementation OBA system for concerned engineering department. The Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sohrab Khan, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Syed Ali Raza Shah, Registrar, Dr. Jalal Shah, Chairman Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Abdullah and Director IT, Syed Jhangir Shah were also attended the presentation.
The purpose of this visit was to see the labs, faculty and infrastructure facilities available to students for the accreditation of Mechanical Engineering Department. The team visited classrooms, labs and library and also reviewed all preparations and documentation related to accreditation.
During the visit, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Syed Ali Raza Shah, Registrar, Dr. Jalal Shah and Chairman Mechanical Engineering Department briefed the team about the department structure, education methodology and faculty hardwork towards achievement of quality education under the guidelines of PEC.
Closing meeting, The Honorable Vice Chancellor welcomed the suggestions and ensured team members to integrate valuable input for greater interest of students and Honorable Vice Chancellor presented souvenirs and Balochi turbans to PEC team on behalf of the Balochistan University of Engineering & Technology, Khuzdar.
